TV in Our Living Room Question

TV in Our Living Room Question

Question

Our living room is 5.5 × 10 meters and we just let a construction sites of 3 x 5 meters.
We had a large white cabinet on the spot where now stands the sofa and the space saving now very fine and also find the place of the bank with a view to the outside is very nice.

We have just got a whole empty space that needs plus we have to give the TV a place, Now we have an idea to buy a long low sideboard / TV cabinet or cause to who comes on the wall below the window. Thus, almost the full length of that wall as a 4 meter. That only means, however, that the TV is under the window. We would like to put a nice en stove on the left in the corner also at this low furniture. So then it becomes a combo TV and fireplace furniture.

I hear very much whether this is a good idea. Alternatively we put the TV on the left so not under the window and a fireplace all right but we find left corner or a nicer place for a fire.

It would also advice for some lamps and where in this arrangement fits very welcome!
My husband had an idea to hang a kind of box shelf above the bank books, but it seems to me that what too busy so above your head. I'd rather a few beautiful glaze possibly shelves hang on one of the side walls of the bank.

Answer

In the pictures I see the following: from the hall you enter the large living room. On the left is a dense white wall opposite the door of a white wall with patio doors with dark gray frames in the middle. On each side of the patio doors wall of a piece of about 1 to 1.2 meters wide. From this side you look into the open kitchen.

On the right is a white wall in the middle with a wide window from about a meter from the floor with a low heating it. A large light gray fabric sofa is placed against the left wall, with a red leather ottoman that is used as a table and a red leather chair, the seating area complete. The floor has the color of light oak.

The space is fantastic: light and spacious. The seating area now seems an island in this space. Between the space and the seating area is now a lack of consistency, it is not whole. Many people are inclined to put more furniture in the room but that in turn affects the (floor) space. But more about that later.

A sideboard / TV cabinet with fire place in the corner on the right wall and fire among the wide window is a very good idea! The most ideal combination of (open) fireplace, TV and outdoor views. Couple of tips: Make the dresser "floating" or put it on slender legs so that your floor still under ziet.Laat milling slots in the top of the dresser so that the heating heat may well lose. The material must not be warped by heat.

See if it is possible or your dresser "the corner" you have to deal with patio doors to the wall. It breaks a little the "pipe drawer effect" (equal = not equal basic principle 6). TV on dresser may be fine as long as it does not (too much) comes into view seen through the window from outside.

The seating more cohesive get through space OM involve more seating in the seating area. Imagine a painting above the sofa on the left wall. Your gaze is drawn up and the sitting area has a "relationship" with the wall. But sitting islet is optically only slightly higher and is still made in isolation.

Suppose you put two tall vases Beside the sofa and nothing hangs above the sofa? Then you pull the "lounge-island" is not only higher but also wider. A boxplank I would not hang above the sofa but rather next to it. The deeper the board how dominant it is. Narrow glass shelves harmonize better with the light gray color of the couch.

To fill more space and get more atmosphere but still keep the sense of space, you might consider placing a side table behind the bench approximately 20 cm wide. This one you can put anything, inter alia lighting.

In addition, it still has another function: you can create vertical lines on the wall. For example, a branch in a vase. If you look at the shape of the room and the furniture you see that squares and rectangles predominate. The sideboard and the fireplace this is even more enhanced. Nothing wrong with that because you can combine the most with.

You have 100% straight lines (windows, curtains, floor are also forms) than there is consistency but remains dull. A contrast shape brings more liveliness but make sure it is not more than 25% of the whole. And actually this applies to all contrasts.

Round shapes are ideal for squares / rectangles. In your room, you can for example choose lighting with round shapes. An arc lamp could very well fit in your room. Please note, however, that then the lamps or have a color that corresponds to the seating area or of the same material because it has to "link" with each other. The round shape is already enough contrast.

You have a beautiful contrast between the sofa and the chair. The bank has a soft texture and light gray color, and chair and ottoman has a smooth texture and is red. They link because they are solid. The cushion with light and dark gray and red stripes perfectly !. Contrast fur against plain. The link is that it has the two colors of red and gray, and it will be straight lines. Did you use plain red cushions than the red contrast (over 25%) have become too large in proportion.

The substance of the bank is also a nice contrast with the smooth texture of the floor and possibly dresser. The smooth dresser you can put some small objects with a rough texture, such as reed or rough pottery.

Let the contrasts elsewhere also come back a little bit that is not in the same field.
As a guideline, you can, in principle, to hold all contrasts which is not more than 25% of the remainder. Plain beside fur, completely off rough, stripes alongside dots, bright colors next to dark colors, vertical lines next horizontal lines, square shapes next round shapes, etc.

The wall with the patio doors has a clear color contrast between the dark gray frames and white walls next to it. A wall lamp beside the patio doors is enough "padding". Boards, I would not make it.
